Vehicles require a multitude of services to continue running in tip-top shape. One of those services includes the MOT. The MOT test (Ministry of Transport) is the annual test to check the safety of your vehicle, exhaust emissions, and to determine the roadworthiness of the vehicle. At PGS Garage we can provide MOT tests for all makes and models including motorcycles.
This is a legal requirement in Great Britain for vehicles that are over three years old that are being driven on the open road. If you are driving without your vehicle passing the MOT, you can be penalised by legal action if caught, so it is best to make sure that your vehicle meets all the standards and specifications to be legal safe for the road.
What’s covered in your MOT?
The MOT test will check the following aspects of your vehicle: tyres and wheels, steering and suspension, seat belts, brakes, driver’s view of the road, fuel, exhaust, emissions, lighting, signalling equipment, and body structure. Following the test, if you pass, you will receive a certificate to confirm that your vehicle has met the minimum requirements of road safety standards and acceptable environmental standards. If your vehicle fails the MOT test, you will be able to re-test it partially within 10 days provided that you get the work done.
